Heading on a camping trip today! Should be easy to be gluten free as I am bringing my own chips and salsa and we are doing meals that basically all consist of veggies. Shish kabobs and vegetarian chili! I’ll stick to snacking on apples and peanut butter, chips and salsa and a few other things when everyone eats sandwiches for lunch- no biggie. Making sure to bring wine to sip on when everyone else is having beer! I challenge YOU now... try to go this one weekend gluten-free and see how you feel!
WIN A 3 PACK OF COLONICS!!! PURE Colonics wants you to try a mini-version of what I did! Try a gluten-free diet for just one week, keep a journal of how your feeling, changes you noticed, and so forth and submit it to the PURE Colonics' Facebook page. At the end of October there will be a drawing from all of the names of people who submitted their journal entries. If your name is picked, you win 3 colonics ($405 value)!!

Grief—or the psychological reaction to loss—is actually a normal, natural state of being. But if left unexpressed, sorrow can manifest in unhealthy conditions including insomnia, loss of appetite, and anxiousness. Many Chinese medicine and holistic health practitioners believe that repressing aguish can even lead to more serious illnesses, so it is important to exercise and eat right during this vulnerable time in your life. “Your grief depletes your supply of several vitamins,” warns Dr. James F. Hubbard, Associate Professor of Psychology at UNC-Pembroke, and suggests including “a good supply of fruits and vegetables to replace your lost vitamin C.” In his 30-day Program to Better Health, Tom Monte suggests vitamin E supplements in the amount of 200 mg per day. But perhaps my favorite advice of all comes from Russell Friedman, author of The Grief Recovery Handbook, who suggests “heading to your emotional health food store for a healthy dose of vitamin H,” for hugs of course!
